ADEA provides meaningful opportunities for its members to contribute to the dental education community. You are encouraged to nominate yourself and others to help ADEA strengthen its framework for good oral health education and a resourceful oral health workforce.

No matter what title you hold, there is a position for you. Multiple advisory groups and advisory committees, both within ADEA and with our partner, the ADA, will benefit from your input. You can begin a new application or return to an application that you previously started but did not submit.

Update on ADEA DIAC

The ADEA Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (ADEA DIAC) is currently evaluating its goals and strategic framework. The committee will forward its recommendations to the ADEA Board of Directors (ADEA BOD) for consideration at its September 17-18, 2025, meeting.

If you are interested in applying for membership to this committee, you are encouraged to do so. If the ADEA BOD approves any recommendations, that information will be shared within a week after the meeting. As a reminder, the Call for Nominations application process does not close until October 30, 2025.

All ADEA DIAC changes will be added to the Call for Nominations webpage. ADEA will also reach out to all members who have already applied for membership to the committee to inform them of the updates. In addition, the changes will be shared with ADEA members through the organization’s usual channels of communication.

General Requirements

  • All advisory groups and advisory committees must follow all guidelines outlined in the ADEA Bylaws and the ADEA Code of Conduct for Meetings, Conferences, Events, and Virtual Communities.
  • To apply for an ADEA position, you must log in to your ADEA Member Account to access the application.
  • To apply for a position with ADA, you must enter your ADEA customer ID number and your ADA member number
  • You can work on your application, save it, and come back to it later before submitting.
  • If your application requires a Letter of Support from your Dental School Dean or the Program Director of your Allied Hygiene Program, make your request to the letter writer as soon as possible—this step often takes the most time. Note: Associate & Assistant Deans must also meet this requirement.

Submission Process

  • Application Review and Selection Period: October 18, 2025 - January 30, 2026.
  • Appointments & nominations not requiring ADEA HOD approval will be announced in mid-February 2026.
  • Appointments & nominations requiring ADEA HOD approval will be announced at the Closing of the 2026 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition.
